Our unique curriculum includes one-on-one instruction as well as jam sessions, concert events, recording programs, and more.

What is the best age to begin lessons?

We accept students ages 5 to adult! Below are the minimum ages that we feel are best to begin taking lessons on each of the instruments we offer:

Guitar/Ukulele-  7 years old

Bass- 10 years old

Drums- 5 years old

Keyboard/Piano- 5 years old

Vocals- 8 years old

Occasionally students can begin at a younger age than listed above. We recommend coming in for a FREE trial lesson to see if your son or daughter is ready to begin lessons. 

What material will be covered in lessons?

Rock’n Music has a unique curriculum that provides students with a solid foundation of technique and theory. We have developed our own unique methodologies to ensure that all students get the most out of their lessons and have the opportunity to reach their potential as musicians. Popular song selections are covered to make the learning process fun and rewarding!

JAM SESSIONS

We offer group jam sessions during which students practice together in a band! Jam sessions focus on songs by various artists, including Led Zeppelin, Green Day, and ACDC. Students are guided by members of the Rock’n Music Academy professional instructor team.

CONCERT EVENTS

Throughout the course of the year Rock’n Music Academy offers concert events for students to take part in. Our concert events give students a goal to work toward and the opportunity to perform in front of a live audience!

MASTER CLASSES

Rock’n Music offers master classes on various topics, such as songwriting and guitar soloing. The master classes are designed to supplement the one-on-one-lessons.

CAMPS

Rock’n Music offers various week-long camps! These include live performance camp, young rockers camp, and recording camp. Once finalized, camp dates and information are posted on the calendar page.

RECORDING PROGRAMS

Rock’n Music offers recording programs for students to learn about the recording process and write and record original music using professional equipment.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC LESSONS

Learning a musical instrument can be one of the most rewarding endeavors. Whether your goal is to play in a band, go to school for music, or simply have fun, taking weekly music lesson can get you on your way!

Studies have shown that kids that take part in weekly music lessons  are more likely to excel at math, due to the fact that both music and math use the same portion of the brain. Learning a musical instrument also promotes discipline, as students are required to practice and prepare for lessons. Group classes, such as jam sessions and concert events, promote teamwork and and build self-esteem and confidence.

Taking weekly lessons with a professional instructor facilitates the learning process and ensures that you develop good practice habits. A professional instructor has gone through the various stages of learning an instrument and can offer valuable insight and tips to keep you progressing at a steady pace.
